If you’re seeking a Wisconsin Emergency Medicine opportunity, take a look at what this position has to offer you.

This is an employed practice option with a five other EM physicians covering a Level III Trauma Center. (Doctor, if you’re really gung-ho for severe trauma cases, this wouldn’t be an ideal fit for you. But if you would prefer NOT to have that level of trauma….read on!)

Coverage consists of 12-hour shifts with the Wisconsin Emergency Medicine group members determining the schedule. Flexibility is key here and the group strives to develop a schedule that fits your lifestyle. Each physician normally practices 11-12 shifts per month. (Moonlighting is available if you have college-bound kids!)

The ER averages around 15,000 cases a year. Traditionally, this is a typical mix of medical and trauma patients, with a 30% admission rate. Consultations with medical and surgical specialists are readily available.

There’s also an Urgent Care Department adjacent to the ER, allowing for easy patient access to either service. Convenience for you – convenience for those you care for. And next year, the Wisconsin Emergency Medicine staff will move into a new integrated, state-of-the-art EMTC/Urgent Care facility. Nice!

Now, a little about the hospital itself. The Medical Center has 250 beds, a 16-bed combined medical-surgical ICU/CCU, cardiac cath lab, NICU and other full-range special care units and high-tech lab and radiology diagnostic services.

A Critical Care/Intensivist Service and a 24-hour Hospitalist Service are onsite. The healthcare system has two other small community hospitals in Wisconsin and a total of twelve clinic facilities located in the states of Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa.
